Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Frederick M. O’Hara, Jr., is a consultant in technical communication with a specialty in energy and the environment. He serves on the staffs of six federal advisory committees as Recording Secretary. In addition, he is the communication specialist for the Center for BioEnergy Sustainability (CBES) in the Environmental Sciences Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory and consults with several private and nonprofit organizations on their communication projects. He has coauthored six books and written or edited many hundreds of scientific books, reports, and other documents. He graduated with a B.S. in chemistry from Boston College, an M.S. in technical writing from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Ph.D. in mass communication and information science from the University of Illinois.
