Born in Toronto, Ontario, Catherine O'Hara got her start in television. The sister of critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Mary Margaret O'Hara, she found the spotlight early in her career, often seen on the Canadian Broadcasting Coorporation (CBC) in both films and commercials. The sisters grew up in Toranto in a Catholic family of Irish descent being the sixth and seventh children of Marcus Charles O'Hara [born February 13, 1912 in London, Middlesex county, Ontario; died on November 15, 1995, in Etobicoke, Toronto; burried at Assumption Catholic Cemetry, Mississauga, Peel Regional Municipality, Ontario] and his spouse Margaret Ann Meehan-O'Hars (1915-1996; married 1940). The grandparents were Thomas O'Hara (1859-1939), Elizabeth Julia Kelly-O'Hara (1873-1950), and Marcus Charles was their sixth child.
